He served in the army reserves and was of the Christian faith. Joe was an avid gardener and was famous for his tomato plants and was liked by everyone.
On November 28, 1964, he married Thelma Lea Rapp in Stone County, Missouri. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 50 years, Thelma; one sister, Ruth Cline of Kansas City, Missouri, and several nieces and nephews. His four sisters, Hilda Zackert, Louise Hulen, Mary and Margaret Bacher, and four brothers, Martin, Daniel, David and Benjamin Bacher also preceded him in death.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora, Missouri with visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at the Marionville IOOF Cemetery. Memorial donations may be to the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
