Mrs. Eliza Jane Atha, 90 years of age, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. F. J. Carter, Zion Station, Sunday night. She had been ill for the past four weeks.
The deceased was born and reared in Grant County where she had spent her long life. She was a member of Plesant View Baptist Church.
Surviving are five sons and one daughter, Forest, Charlie, Bill, Jess, and Bernie Atha and Mrs. Bessie Atha Carter. There are also sixteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren and one sister Mrs. Junie Pettit, Covington surviving.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at Plesant View by the Rev. Simeon Webster and the Rev. Ethel Simpson. Burial was in the church cemetery.
