He is survived by his wife, Sherry (nee Szany); three sons: Patrick, Adam, and Owen of Crown Point; parents: Don and Linda Olenik; brothers: Don (Lana) Olenik, Brian (Julie) Olenik and Jeff (Michelle) Olenik all of Crown Point; grandmothers: Julia Olenik of Hammond and Evelyn Mayden of Portage; parents-in-law: Mike (Peggy) Szany; sister-in-law, Shana Szany; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mr. Olenik was preceded in death by his grandfathers: Nicholas Olenik and Edward Mayden.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, November 23, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. DIRECTLY at St. Mary Catholic Church, 321 E. Joliet, Crown Point, IN with Father Patrick Kalich officiating.
PRIVATE Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN.
Mark was employed at Graybar Electric Company in Hammond. He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, camping and spending time with his wife and sons.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated in Mark's loving memory to his wife and sons (Sherry Olenik Box 116, Schererville, IN 46375).
