MISS MARY C. BISSELL DIES
Member of Old St. Louis Family Succumbs to Heart Disease
Miss Mary C. Bissell, granddaughter of Daniel Bissell, member of one of St. Louis' oldest families, and for a quarter of a century mistress of the old mansion on the Bellefontaine road, died of heart disease at her home of yesterday afternoon.
She had been ill a week, and death came as a shock to many of her friends. She is survived by three brothers, F. S. and Daniel R. Bissell, Mo., and F. R. of Dallas, Tx, and a sister, Mrs. H. D. Wilson, of Memphis, Tenn.
Both out of town relatives are expected to-day. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
Miss Bissell was born forty-eight years ago in the mansion where she died. She was known as a traveler, but lately spent most of her time in St. Louis. Miss Bissell's grandfather, Gen. Daniel R. Bissell, came to St. Louis in 1804 and soon after assumed command of Fort Bellefontaine. Her father J. M. R. Bissell, died in 1885.

MISS MARY C. BISSELL DIES
Miss Mary C. Bissell, granddaughter of Daniel Bissell, a St. Louis pioneer died suddenly at 5:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the Old Bissell mansion, Bissell's Point, St. Louis County. Members of the family attribute her death to heart disease. Miss Bissell had been ill less than a week, and it was thought she was recovering when she suffered a relapse yesterday. Funeral arrangements await the arrival of F. R. Bissell of Galveston, Tex., a brother, and Mrs. H. D. Wilson of Memphis, Tenn., a sister.
Miss Bissell was a daughter of the late James R. Bissell, who controlled much realestate on the North Side and who died in 1887, and the late Anna Haight Chistopher. Two other brothers and one sister, Daniel and S. X. Bissell and Mrs. Cornelia White, survive her.
