Jacob was born in Gowdeysville, SC--could have been 1871 or 1876-censuses hard to read and often untrue. The estimated date of death is 1906.
After his wife Emily died, he remarried to Sally Phillips, and it was told that he and his new wife were killed when the horse pulling their wagon got spooked and threw them out. I think I have found Sally in 1910 census with her dad, but his Mom had also died before 1910, so maybe she is the one with him in the buggy. Never have found any documents to verify this story, but he is gone before the 1910 census. These 3 small girls lost their Mom, Dad and Grandmother during this 10-yr period.
