Thomas E. Adams Sr.

ADAMS, Thomas E. Sr. Age 81, of Kettering, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2007 at his home. Tom was born July 28, 1925 in Maria Stein, Ohio to the late Clara (Goecke) and George Adams. Tom graduated from Marion Local High School in 1944. He retired from General Motors Inland, West Third, after 38 years where he worked as a security guard and a member of the Inland retirees. Tom was a beloved funeral associate at Conner & Koch Funeral Home for the last 4 1/2 years. Tom was a founding member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church where he was an usher and a member of the Keen-Agers, and was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Tom thoroughly enjoyed ushering for U.D. Football and Basketball. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Hugo Adams, sisters Emilda Guckes, Margaret Lucas, & Esther Adams. Tom is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Rose (Karn) Adams, 3 daughters Ruth & her husband James Nuttall of Kettering, Rose Ann & her husband Tony Adkins of Kettering, Susie & her husband Doug Furderer of Petaluma, CA, 2 sons Charles F. Adams of New Richmond, Thomas E. Adams, Jr. & his wife Kathy of Bellbrook, 8 grandchildren Amy & her husband Dave, Katie, Jason, Kristen, Megan, Wyatt, James, & Amber, brother Ernest Adams of Englewood, & numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm, Thursday, Feb. 22 at Conner & Koch Funeral Home, 92 W. Franklin St. (S.R. 725), Bellbrook. Prayer service will follow at 8:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 am Friday Feb. 23 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6245 Wilmington Pike, Centerville. Father Tom Schmidt will officiate. Interment in Bear Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Pike, Dayton, Ohio 45420, St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6245 Wilmington Pike, Centerville, Ohio 45459.
