At the Falls Villa (Grand Falls Manor), March 28, 2012, Mr. J. Lionel "Leonard" Arseneault of Blue Bell passed away at the age of 85 years. He was the husband of the late Leona Yvonne Levesque. Born at Blue Bell in 1926, he was a son of the late Isidore and Jacqueline (Geneau) Arseneault.
Retired after almost 38 years with Canadian National Railway, Mr. Arseneault was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Grand Falls Branch 21.
He is survived by four children, Louis and Joanne of British Columbia, Ginette Rhebergen (Al) of Bradford, Ontario and Michael (Diane) of Blue Bell, two grandchildren, Robyn and Heather, two sisters, Annie Mahan of Mars Hill, Maine and Violet Saunders (Clifford) of Burntland Brook, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Daniel, Abel, Francis, Emmanuel and Walter, sisters Helen, Freda, Ida, Beatrice, Rita and Yvonne.
His funeral service was held Saturday, March 31st at 2 p.m. from the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Blue Bell with Father Gilbert Doddatto officiating. The pallbearers were Rino Geneau, Bradley Labonté, Stanley Clowes, Yvon Levesque, Eric Labonté and Shawn St. Peter. Interment was in the adjoining cemetery.
