Mary A. Trout was born February 10, 1857, at Hillsborough, Ohio; and died at her home near Holton, Kansas, May the 25, 1911, at the age of 54 years, 9 months and 15 days. In the year 1873 she came to Kansas and lived at Council Grove where one year later she was married to James A. Edwards, her now sorrowing husband. To this happy union there were born 8 children who all survive the mother, namely: Mrs. Charles R Russell of Thedford, Neb., Mrs. Dee Rubies of Council Grove, Kansas, Mrs. Frank Smith of Council Grove, Kansas, Mrs. Charles E. Rees, of Holton, Albert M., of Council Grove, Miss Eva G.; Miss Blanch; and Harvey R., of Holton. In 1901 the family moved to Jackson county, Kansas, and have since resided near Holton. Mrs. Edwards was converted at the age of 17 years and united with the M. E. church. Later she transferred her church membership to the M. E. church South .... Besides husband and children, she leaves two brothers and one sister .... laid away in the Holton cemetery.
