Isabelle was born in Natural Bridge on July 29, 1921, the daughter of the late Thomas and Effie Arnold Lozo. She attended school in Natural Bridge. She married Perry (Pat) Schantz on November 24, 1943 in Madison, Indiana. Mr. Schantz, a former highway superintendant for the Town of Wilna died on July 4, 1993. She worked at the former St. Regis Paper Company in Herrings and Deferiet for many years. She retired several years ago from Kraft in Lowville where she worked as a lab technician.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post # 789 and the VFW Auxiliary Post # 7227, both of Carthage, the Carthage Area Hospital Auxiliary and the Natural Bridge United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one sister: Merceline Dobosz of Rochester and several nieces and nephews. Four brothers, Edward, Harold, Alfred and Norman Lozo, and two sisters, Viola Peck and Alma McIntyre are predeceased. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM at the Natural Bridge United Methodist Church with Mrs. Lori Hickey officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Natural Bridge. Calling hours at the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home will be on Sunday from 1-4 pm.
