Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Portales Cemetery with Wayne Baker officiating. Arrangements are by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales Inc.
Mrs. Hayhurst was born in Blackwell, Texas, and spent the early years of her life in the Blackwell area. She married Melton K. Hayhurst in 1933 at Blackwell.
They made their home in Durango, Colo., and later in Belen. After her husband's retirement, they moved to Truth or Consequences in 1970 and to Portales in 1980. Her husband died in 1987.
Mrs. Hayhurst was a member of Brazos Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons, Gerald Hayhurst of Athens, Ala., and Roger Hayhurst of Butte, Mont.; a daughter, Shirley Smith of Portales; a sister, Muriel Pruitt of Fort Davis, Texas; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
