William was the son of Jessie Hutchison and Clara "Clairy" Ann (Davis) Hutchison. Billie's father passed away when he was still young. His mother re-married to Isaac P. Sellers in Carroll CO, TN on January 18, 1877, who helped raise Billie.

William married Beatrice Webb in Carroll County, TN on April 23, 1893.

He married again to a widowed Sarah (Autry) Vance about 1908.

William passed away in Hazel, Henry County, TN, (just South of Hazel,KY) according to his TN Death Certificate.
