Mrs. Sherbie M. Cole, 76, widow of Ernest F. Cole, of 218 Auburn St., died Friday morning at a local hospital after a short illness.
She was born in Perham, April 17, 1900, daughter of Samuel and Josephine Holmes Tuck. She attended Presque Isle schools and graduated from Presque Isle Normal School.
She taught English at Presque Isle High School for several years prior to her marriage. She moved to the Portland area in 1932 and has resided here since that time.
Mrs. Cole was an antique dealer and raised and bred Boston terriers. She was a member of the Boston Terrier Association.
She was a member of the Unity Church.
Mr. Cole died in 1968.
She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Jacqueline C. McGovern, and four grand-children, Mark Cynthia, David and Darrin McGovern, all of Portland.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at 749 Congress St., with burial in Brooklawn Memorial Park.
