He married Marilyn Moulton in 1952 and began his profession as a cattle buyer moving to California after his children, Jeff and Kim, were born. He worked for Walti-Schilling / Wolfsen Feed Lots for the majority of his career and lived in Capitola, California for over 30 years. He took much delight in flying his plane and especially liked being a member of the Quiet Birds (QB's) and heading up to Johnson Creek, ID, for their annual camp and fishing trip held in July. He enjoyed travel and loved the Caribbean. He was also a member of the Elks Club. He spent his later years in Nampa, living on the Sheep Shed Ranch, his pride and joy, where crops and livestock were raised. He nurtured his rose bushes and relished the tranquility of farm life.
Elmer is survived by his daughter, Kimberly (Dennis) Moore of Simi Valley, California; grand-daughter Candace (Chris) Nagle and cherished great grand-daughter Avery Gossett Nagle of New York, New York. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Wyatt and Bob; and son, Jeffrey. He was also blessed with assistance from several caregivers including: Amanda, Kassandra and Hannah.
A private Celebration of Life was held in Boise, ID, on November 4th. Interment arrangements are being handled by Cloverdale Cemetery in Boise, ID.
