Harold L. Allen, 77, of Maryville, MO, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2014, at his home in Maryville.

Harold was born on July 10, 1937, in Bedison, MO, his parents were Glenn and Helen Margret (Mattson) Allen. They preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his brother, Robert Allen, his sisters, Lois Smith, and Doris Curry, his granddaughter, Brenda Allen, and his son, Harlan Allen.

A lifelong resident of the area, Harold had worked for the former Maryville Packing Plant, Turners Concrete, and Loch Sand and Construction, all of Maryville. In 1977, he started the Allen’s Country Mix plant in Maryville, and operated that business until retiring in 2004.

On August 31, 1956, Harold was united in marriage to Shirley Mae Scott, at the Westboro Methodist Church, Westboro, MO.

His survivors include his wife, Shirley of the home; his children, Bill Allen, Maryville, MO, Linda (Charlie) Phillippe, King City, MO, Lori Weland, Maryville, MO, and daughter in law, Debbie Allen, Maryville, MO; his sisters, Judy Lyons, and companion George Clement, Maryville, MO, and Kay (Tom) Strueby, Conception Junction, MO: his grandchildren, Brian Allen, Kenna (Brad) Florea, Jessica Allen, Jennifer Lynch, Melissa (Tyler) Wheeler, Hailey Weland, Ryan (Kim) Weland; his great grandchildren, Kelli Lynch, Klayton Lynch, Tyler Wheeler, Makayla Wheeler, Macie Wheeler, Skyler Florea, Kynder Florea, and Hayzer Florea; and nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Memorial graveside services will be at 10:30 AM, Saturday, November 15, 2014, at the Nodaway Memorial Gardens, Maryville, MO. No formal visitation is planned.
