JOHN WILLIAM GRIBBLE, 80, who operated a barber shop on High St. in Brownsville for 40 years died in Ohio Valley Hospital in Steubenville, OH, following a brief illness.

He had been a resident of Brownsville for over 50 years. MR. GRIBBLE, noted for his activity despite his age retired last June. Since then he has resided with his daughter, MRS. PAUL CLINE, Bloomingdale, OH.

He was born Jan. 26, 1872, near New Salem, the son of WELCH and LUCY FROST GRIBBLE.

He attended public schools in Fairchance and entered the barber trade there. For a time he was employed at a brick manufacturing plant in California, PA and operated a small barber shop in his free time. He opened the shop on High St. in 1911.

He was united in marriage with LULU SHAEFER, Belle Vernon, in Jan. 1902. She preceded him in death in Jan. 1923.

Surviving in addition to his daughter, Mrs. CLINE, are a daughter-in-law, MRS. LEWIS H. GRIBBLE, Detroit, three grandchildren, MARY, and JOHN GRIBBLE, and SUSAN COLE; one sister, MRS. MARGARET KENDALL and a brother, NEWTON GRIBBLE.

Preceding him in death was a daughter, NELLIE and a son, DR. LEWIS HARRY GRIBBLE.

Friends will be received at the Ross Funeral Home and burial will be in Redstone Cemetery.
