Death Certificate for Sarah Annie Elisabeth Gober Allen. Was difficult to find due to the person who transcribed information to Family Search data base as it was Transcribed as Yober for her parents instead of Gober!
I had always been told that she had been washing clothes over open fire outside and her long blond hair had caught on fire and her clothes caught on fire as she ran, she died from complications from the Burns. Death Certificate states her dress caught on fire.
She is buried next to her husband Clarence Eugene Allen in Jacksonville, Al. On her son Foster Allen’s Death Certificate her name is listed as Annie Mae.
It seems that there is a pattern with our family not caring to much for our first name and going by our middle name. Or even changing our name.
Example
Emeline Gann. Emma
Grant Nathan Allen AKA Grant Ralph Allen was told he did not like the name Nathan
Thomas Albert Allen AKA Clarence Eugene Lancaster AKA “Slim”
John M. Allen AKA Foster Allen
My Grandfather had mentioned that one of his brothers even changed his last name. Thomas Albert Allen born 1896. This has been verified through DNA with Grant Allen's Daughter Rosa Lee and Slim's Granddaughter Patricia Jordan sharing a total of 509.6 cM 16 matching segments.
Death Certificate for Foster Allen stating DOB 7-8-00 DOD 10-31-59 who died in Bamberg County, S.C. being the son of Clarence Eugene Allen and Sarah Annie Elizabeth Gober. On death certificate it says his mother is Annie Mae Goble which is an error.
Foster is listed as a border in the 1920 Census with my Grandfather Grant Ralph Allen who did not like the name Nathan so changed it to Ralph.
