Samuel E. Overton, Sr., 78, passed away Friday, May 31, 2013. Native of Slaughter, Louisiana and resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was a caring father, grandfather, great-grandfather and retired business owner. Samuel proudly served his country for eight years in the United States Air Force. He is survived by his loving fiancée Carleen Bridges; children Brent Overton, and spouse Denise, and Brett Overton and spouse Rosie; two grandchildren, Britt Overton and fiancée Chelsi Ebeling, and Austin Overton; and one great-grandchild, Drake Overton. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Katie Overton; wife Nina Overton; two brothers, Lew Overton and John Overton; and three sisters, Evelyn, Clarisa, and Aurelia. Visitation will be at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge, LA 70816, on Sunday, June 2, 2013 from 5-8 p.m. Visitation will resume on Monday morning, June 3, 2013 at 10 a.m. until funeral service conducted by Rev.
