Betty [Athlene] Romines Turner has a new address. She was called from her earthly tabernacle to her new address in heaven to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She departed from this life Sept. 6, 2007, at her home.
She was born near Hector, Arkansas on October 12, 1935 to the Rev. George F[ranklin] and [Oma] Lavada [Vaughan] Romines. She was preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws, Frank and Lucille Turner; and her daughter, LaDonna Kay [Vaughan] Collins [wife of Robert Michael "Mike" Collins].
Betty was a member and worker of Hatley Missionary Baptist Church. She was happy being a wife, mother, and homemaker.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Tom Turner; two daughters, Doris Abele and husband, Jim, of Russellville and Angela Wooten and husband, Henry, of Dover; one son, Gary Turner and wife, Michele, of Russellville; and a son in-law, Mike Collins and wife, Barbara, of Dover; two sisters, Corene [Romines] Carr and her husband, Ray, and Lorene [Romines] Gray and her husband Jerry, and a brother, Frank Romines and his wife, Shirley, all of Hector; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at Hatley Missionary Baptist Church at 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 10, 2007. Bro. Lester Barnes and Bro. Jerry Turner will officiate. Burial will be at Rock Springs Cemetery near Hector, by Shinn Funeral Service.
Active pallbearers will be Keith Carr, Harold Carr, Terry Gray, Tony Gray, Craig Gray, Clint Turner and Brandon Romines.
Honorary pallbearers will be all the members of Hatley Missionary Baptist Church.
