Officer Jack R. Adams, DSN 2909, was commissioned as a Police Officer on 10/15/1956. After completion of the Saint Louis Police Academy, he was assigned to uniform patrol. This assignment is not reflected under his employment history with the department for some reason. It is known however that he was transferred into the Canine Division on 06/16/1962 and remained there for his entire career. Officer. Officer Adams was awarded 1 Chief's Letter of Commendation on 07/12/1968 for police work above the call of duty. Officer Adams retired from St. Louis Police Department on accidental disability on February 2, 1975.

Mr. Adams was a veteran of the United States Army and achieved the rank of Specialist 2Nd Class.

Jack R. Adams was Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Monday, November 10th, 2014 at the age of 80.

Loving husband of 47 years to Jerrianne (nee Proemsey) Adams. Son of the late George Miles and Bessie Pearl Adams.

Father to Richard, Donna (Kathy), the late Dennis, Michael (Jeanne), Janice (Jim), James (Karen), Lisa Cuggino (Scott), and Jack Jr. Grandfather of 13, Great-Grandfather of 2, Brother-in-law, Uncle, Great-Uncle and friend to many.

Son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Clarence and Lucille Adams.

Brother to the late Robert Adams, and Nephew to the late Willard Miles Adams.

Visitation 4-8pm Thursday, Nov 13 at Jay B. Smith Funeral Home, located at the Maplewood Chapel.

Funeral Mass Friday at 10:00 am at Epiphany of Our Lord Catholic Church
