George Ritzler

SYCAMORE - George E. Ritzler, Bloomville, died at 5:37 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003, at the Bucyrus Community Hospital. He was 84. Born in Columbus on Dec. 29, 1918, he was a son of Edward and Myrtle (Westerman) Ritzler. He married Donna C. Shupp on June 21, 1942. She survives. Also surviving are a son, Tom, Bloomville; two grandchildren, Jennifer and Wesley Ritzler; and two brothers, Paul, Phoenix, Ariz.; and David, Nevada. He was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Hunsicker. Mr. Ritzler was the owner and operator of Ritzler Trucking Co. He also was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of B.P.O.E. No. 156 in Bucyrus. Mr. Ritzler enjoyed watching stock car races at the Attica Raceway and was a Sycamore softball fan. The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Walton-Moore Funeral Home, Sycamore, with the Rev. Kevin Rothaar officiating. Burial will be in Brokensword Cemetery. Visitation is at the funeral home today from 5-9 p.m. Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross, American Cancer Society, the Sycamore Softball Association or the organization of the donor's choice.
