Magdalena Helena Engels, daughter of Johann Engels and Catharina Schaefer, married Johann Peter Adams, son of Mathias Adams and Anna Maria Junger, on 3 November 1842, in Kirchesch, Germany. They were the parents of eight children known, Mathias b 15 Aug 1843, Caspar b 3 Nov 1845, Martin b 14 Sep 1848, Christina b 8 May 1851, Anna Maria b 27 May 1854, Jacob b 10 May 1858, Gertrude b 8 Oct 1861 and Peter b 16 Mar 1864. Johann Peter Adams, after the death of his wife, emigrated from Germany with their children, Mathias, Christina, Anna Maria, Jacob and Gertrude. They arrived at the Port of New York on 30 October 1869 aboard the ship Siberia. They were among the early settlers in Johnsburg, McHenry County, Illinois, and members of St John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg ~
