William Martin Kirkland Jr. , 82, lifelong resident of Liberty, Mississippi, passed away Tuesday November 11, 2014, at Southwest Regional Medical Center in McComb, Ms.
He was born February 9, 1932 in Liberty, the son of the late William M. Kirkland, Sr. and Etta Etoile Higgins Kirkland. He was an appliance Technician with Whirlpool in Baton Rouge, La. Martin was an outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and growing vegetables in his garden. And he enjoyed involving his family in these activities.
Martin is survived by his wife, Bobbie Gautreau Kirkland of Liberty, Ms. His son, William Brent Kirkland of Liberty, Ms. His 2 daughters: Frances Bailey and Laurie Kirkland , both of Liberty, Ms. 4 Grandchildren, 2 Great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Martin was preceded in death by: his parents, William M. Kirkland Sr. and Etta Etoile Higgins Kirkland, His son, Gregory Kirkland, his sister, Doris Howard, and his brother, Warren Kirkland.
Visitation is Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at Brown Funeral Home in Liberty, Ms., beginning at 10:00 A.M. until time of funeral services at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, at Brown Funeral Home. Officiated by Bro. Merrill Blalock. Interment will follow in Higgins Cemetery near Liberty.
