Myrtle Ellen Koon, 83, of Winchester, died Friday, November 7, 2014 at her son’s home in Berryville.
Mrs. Koon was born December 12, 1930 in Millwood, Virginia; the daughter of Calvin Luther and Clara McDonald Armel.
Myrtle married Robert William Koon Sr. November 11, 1955. Mr. Koon died in 1989.
She was a lovingly devoted mother, grandmother and friend.
Mrs. Koon was a self-employed beautician for sixty five years. She was a member of the Congregational Church of Christ.
She is survived by three children Robin E. White of Winchester, Robert W. Koon Jr. (Donna) of Berryville, VA, Cindy L. Koon of Winchester, VA, six grandchildren, Jennifer White, Joshua White, Calvin Koon, Clayton Koon, Caleb Koon and Jacob Koon, two great grandchildren and one sister Hazel Buzzard “Skeeter” of Boonsboro, MD.
Along with her husband Robert, five brothers, Harold, Lyle, Melvin, Bud and Philip Armel preceded her in death.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday November 11, 2014 from 11:00 – 12:00 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Home in Winchester, VA.
Burial will be private at Macedonia United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Ken Patrick Officiating.
Pallbearers will be Calvin Koon, Clayton Koon, Caleb Koon, Jacob Koon, Mike Seldon and Cecil Jones.
