Mrs. Betty Murphy Smith, 84, of Kernersville, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, November 9, 2014, with her family by her side.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Donald Braxton Smith, Sr., one son and two daughters.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughter, Beatrice "Lynn" Lee of the home, two special grandchildren, Jennifer Bordeaux (Jamie) and Charles Lee (Cassandra) of the home, and one precious great-grandson of the home, Matthew Lee. She is also survived by three other daughters, Karen Smith of Charlotte, Janice Sartin (David) of Kernersville, Victoria Earnhardt (Greg) of Greensboro, one son, Michael Smith (Carolyn) of Greensboro, twelve grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and one sister Frances Mardis (Al) of Greensboro.
The funeral will be Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Hanes-Lineberry North Elm Chapel, with the internment to follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.
