"Mrs. Artie May Brown, 96, formerly of North Kansas City, died Saturday in a nursing home at 435 Gladstone Blvd., where she lived. She was a lifelong area resident. Mrs. Brown worked for the Crawford Manufacturing Co. before she retired in 1953. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of North Kansas City. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge. She leaves nephews and nieces. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church; burial in White Chapel Cemetery." The Kansas City Times, July 9, 1984
