Alphonse C. Britton, 77, of Brenham, passed away June 2, 2008, at Hermann Hospital.

Alphonse was born June 9, 1931, in Texas City. He graduated from Lincoln
High in Texas City.

Survivors include his wife, Minnie M. Britton; daughters, Beverly Britton and husband Jim, and Cynthia Hall; sons, Alphonse Britton Jr. and wife Demetry, Ronnie Britton and wife Debra, Greg Britton and wife Pat, Kevin Britton and wife Bridget, Samuel Britton and wife Vida, Jerome Britton and wife Al, and Rodney Britton; 29 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service for Alphonse Britton will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2008, at Emmanuel Temple Church of Brenham. Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, June 7, 2008, at Grace Fellowship Baptist Church in Brenham, 1603 Church St.

Services are in the care of Oscar Johnson’s Funeral Home, 415 Berry Road, Houston, Texas 77022, (713) 695-3313.
