Carol Lynn Curtner Benton Andersen

Carol Lynn Andersen at the time of her death was living in North Redington Beach, Florida.

Andersen was her married name at the time of death. Previously, she was married to Terry Edward Benton, Sr.

Her maiden name was Carol Lynn Curtner. Carol was born in Dayton, Ohio to Donald C. Curtner and Ruth E. Curtner. She had one sister, Barbara, living around Dayton, Ohio.

After her first marriage they moved to Polk County, Florida. Later, they were divorced in Polk County, Florida.

She had a son, "T.J.", Terry Edward Benton, Jr., that was born in 1973, Dayton, Ohio and passed way in 1991, in Lakeland, Polk County, Florida. "T.J." was buried near Dayton, Ohio, after his death, while living with his father and stepmother in Lakeland.

Carol's Father, deceased,(b 12 Aug 1915 d 05 Jan 1998) was buried there in Ohio, also. Carol's Mother (b 27 Oct 1919 d 04 Apr 1993) had been living in Southern Florida, but was also, deceased, at the time of Carol's death.

I was a dear friend of Carol and had known her for years, even before she located around the North Redington Beach, area. We met as beginning to work together in March 1988, in Lakeland, Florida. Carol later moved back to the Dayton, Ohio vicinity to spend some time with her father. Afterwards, is when she moved back to the area around St Petersburg, Florida, in October 1991, and with later, being remarried November 26, 1992, to "Jerry" Andersen.

As Carol's dear friend, I know I will never forget her and will be grateful for her friendship always. I don't think she had many close relatives still living while she was alive, but if so, perhaps they or others that have known Carol, will someday find this Memorial and would like to leave flowers and a note, as in Remembrance of Carol. My only desire.. is for Carol.. to never be forgotten, as she was a wonderful person... that had lived a very hard life.

I personally know as she told me.. that her wishes were to be buried next to her son when that time came as her passing. She was grateful to God for lending her this only child for the short time that she had been given.

Services for Carol were held at Moss Feaster Funeral Homes Serenity Gardens Chapel. She was cremated with her ashes being scattered at a later date near her home (Intercoastal Waterway} where she lived before passing away August 17, 2000.

Carol, You Are Not Forgotten..
Rest In Peace..

Memorial For Carol's Son, " T.J." Terry Edward Benton, Jr.

Carol had a great fondness for the poetry of Kahlil Gibran.

*Reading from "The Prophet" by poet Kahlil Gibran*

Then Almitra spoke, saying, We would ask now of Death.

And he said: You would know the secret of death.

But how shall you find it unless you seek it in the heart of life?

The owl whose night-bound eyes are blind unto the day cannot unveil the mystery of light.

If you would indeed behold the spirit of death, open your heart wide unto the body of life.

For life and death are one, even as the river and the sea are one.

In the depth of your hopes and desires lies your silent knowledge of the beyond;

And like seeds dreaming beneath the snow your heart dreams of spring.

Trust the dreams, for in them is hidden the gate to eternity.

Your fear of death is but the trembling of the shepherd when he stands before the king whose hand is to be laid upon him in honour.

Is the shepherd not joyful beneath his trembling, that he shall wear the mark of the king?

Yet is he not more mindful of his trembling?

For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun?

And what is it to cease breathing but to free the breath from its restless tides that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered?

Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing.

And when you have reached the mountain top, then you shall begin to climb.

And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance.
