Dorothy Aldridge, 93, of New Smyrna Beach, went to be with her Lord on October 9, 2013. She was born in Eastman, Georgia, January 25, 1920. After attending Bob Jones University she married the late Charles Wyndell Aldridge, living in Atlanta, Georgia until 1963 then moving to Daytona Beach. Dot passionately loved her Lord and faithfully served for 50 years in her church, The United Brethren Church of Holly Hill. She enjoyed playing the organ and teaching adult Sunday School. In 2011 she moved into Tiffany's on the River Assisted Living facility in New Smyrna Beach and loved attending First Presbyterian Church of New Smyrna Beach. She dearly loved and treasured her children, grandchildren and great grands. Survivors include: Ed and Margaret Aldridge, Joy Trebolo, Benjamin, Emily, and Maddie Kate Dillard, Jason, Kim, Abigail and Evan Aldridge, Charley Aldridge, Adam Perry, Claire Sears, and George and Rosemary Magnum. Dot believed strongly in missions, therefore in lieu of flowers family requests donations be made to: LMCO (Lottie Moon Christmas Offering) in memory of Dorothy Aldridge, International Mission Board, Attn: Development Dept., P.O. A service to celebrate her life will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 22 at First Presbyterian Church, 509 Magnolia Street, New Smyrna Beach.
