DIMOND, CLIFTON, 95, of Pelham, Alabama went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 3, 2010. He was a wonderful, gentle, Christian husband, father, and friend of many. He never knew a stranger and was the neighborhood Mr. Fix-It.
He lived most of his life in Kansas where he was a grocery store owner and insurance salesman, moving to Alabama in 1996.
He was preceded in death by father Charles Dimond, mother Minnie (Conrad) Dimond, step-mother Ena (Eller)Dimond; sisters, infant girl, Dorothy Agnus, Althea Koch, and Irene French; brothers, Warren Dimond and Cecil Dimond.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years Thelma (Carter) Dimond of Pelham, Alabama, son Carl Dimond of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, daughters Sheryl Colle of Helena, Alabama, and Colleen Davis of Pelham, Alabama; sisters, Ortha Courter of Arizona, Minnie Ulrich of Washington, Myrna Favinger of Colorado, Lois Noffsinger of Kansas, brother Marvin Dimond of Colorado; 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and a whole host of friends.
Visitation will be on Friday, May 7, 2010, from 2:30 p.m. until 4:00 pm with the Celebration of Life at 4:00 pm, all taking place in the Chapel of Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Rd., Pelham, Alabama. Donations may be made to the American Heart Society.
