Pfc. Jeremy W. Ehle of Richmond, Virginia grew up in a Richmond area boy's home before finding a surrogate family through his high school's ROTC program. He was a member of the junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps program at John Randolph Tucker High School, where he graduated in 2005. He was a good kid who wanted to move ahead in life, not having a lot of the advantages other kids had. His obstacles included living in a group home while completing high school, and he never complained about his living circumstances, he had no car and walked from the boy's home a few blocks to class. Jeremy died in Hit, Iraq from wounds sustained when his dismounted patrol came under enemy small arms fire during combat operations. He was 19.
