Fuchia R.Taft, 97
Graveside service for Fuchia R. Taft, 97, of East Jordan, will be held 1 p.m. Friday, April 26, at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Donald Ferguson of the First Presbyterian Church will officiate.
Mrs. Taft died April 22, 1985, at Grandvue Medical Care Facility.
The former Fuchia R. Ryall was born July 30, 1888, in South Haven. She graduated from South Haven High School in 1905 and from Michigan Agricultural College (now Michigan State University) in 1908.
On Nov. 5, 1910, she married Howard A. Taft in South Haven. The couple lived in East Lansing until coming to East Jordan in 1940. Her husband preceded her in death in 1977.
Mrs. Taft was a homemaker and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in East Jordan.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs.Thomas (Margaret) Thacker of Fairborn, Ohio; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
The family suggests memorials to Grandvue Medical Care Facility.
Arrangements were handled by Vanderwall Funeral home, East Jordan. There will be no visitation.
