He was a member of the National Assn. of Letter Carriers and past president of the Sacramento Branch of NALC. He also was president of the Fircrest Mobile Home Assn. and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of and past president of the Sebastopol AARP. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and was an avid 49'er and Giants fan.
George was a descendent of the Hubbard family who came here on the Mayflower.
Beloved spouse of Christine McFarland. Loving father of Kenneth and Steven McFarland, Pete and Bruce Linsenmeyer, Janice Lane and Janet Anderson. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Caring brother of Wayne (deceased),Alvin (deceased), Warren and Larry McFarland. Winefred Boling, Verna Hilliard (deceased), and Kathryn Peebles. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
