Daughter Of Edward and Sarah Hubbard.Mother of Charles , George,Fredrick,Mary(Mae),Ella, Harry and Laura Virginia Cronk Northrup Loving wife of Captain John H Cronk.She was born in NYC in 1840 She moved to Newburgh when she was about 10 years old and a few years later moved to Cornwall.In the days when she lived in Newburgh and Cornwall she attended the rural school;arising early in the morning in order to do her many chores she milked cows, scrubbed floors, washed dishes, stacked and filled the wood box before setting our for her long walk to the schoolhouse.Then,with her slate,slate-pencil and spelling books tucked under her arm she would join the other boys and girls for a session which lasted late in the afternoon.Afterwards she used to "go berrying".Moving there shortly after she was married ,She did all her own preserving,made her own rag rugs,did all the cooking and took care of her family.She said "women in those days knew how to work". Her brightest spot in her memory was her wedding day and her saddest experience was her husbands death although she was forced to see the death of 3 Charles Harry and George when they were small babies.
