Dr. Balsom attended the funeral of his brother, Frank Balsom, at Seligman, Missouri, Friday of last week. Mr. and Mrs. Balsom were visiting their granddaughter, Mrs. Joe Schooler, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the time of his death last Wednesday. Death was caused by a stroke-of apoplexy. Funeral services were held at Seligman last Friday afternoon in the First Baptist church. Interment was in the Seligman cemetery.
Mr. Balsom and wife operated a café here over twenty years ago. Many of the older residents will remember him. He was nearly 80 years old. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Mamie Bass of Emporia. He also leaves 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
