Mrs. Ethel J. Breckenridge, 74, Spring Creek rd., died at 1 p. m. Thursday in St. Anthony hospital, where she had been a patient more than three years.
A resident of Rockford for nearly 42 years, Mrs. Breckenridge was born in Chatham, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of Edward and Elizabeth McKerrall. She was married to E. M. Breckenridge in Chatham Dec. 22, 1909, and the couple came to Rockford to make their home. In 1912 they moved to the farm on Spring Creek rd.
Mrs. Breckenridge was a member of Westminster Presbyterian church, the Guilford Gleaners, and Guilford Hope grange, No. 6.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two daughters, Mrs. Ina Bert, Rockford, and Mrs. Annetta Wells, Poplar Grove, and a son, Ronald Breckenridge, a first lieutenant in the air force, stationed in Columbus, O.
Services will be held at 3 p. m. Saturday in the Burpee-Wood funeral home, 420 Main st. The Rev. James Benson, pastor-elect, of Westminster Presbyterian church, will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery. Friends may call in the funeral home between 7 and 8:30 o'clock tonight.
