Jack Leon Hewitt, Sr., 83 year old Porter resident, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014 at his home in Porter, OK.
He was born on Monday, May 18, 1931 to Eugene and Mamie Pauline (Webb) Hewitt in Coweta.
At age 24, he married Coleen Nadine Plunk in June of 1955 in Muskogee.
Jack was a brick and stone mason for most of his life until he retired in 2006.
He was a member of the Coweta All-Around Cowboy Church and a former member of the Broken Arrow Round-Up Club. He enjoyed calf roping, horses, restoring old cars and visiting with friends.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, 1 daughter, Sharlotte Ann Hewitt, 5 brothers and 1 sister.
Jack is survived by the love of his life of 59 years, Coleen Hewitt of the home in Porter; 2 daughters, Wilma Smith of Porter and Linda Justice and husband, Dwight, of Porter; 1 son, Jackie Hewitt, Jr. and wife, Diane, of Porter; 6 grandchildren, Daniel, Laura, Rachel, Sarah, Jennifer and Jamie; 9 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Viewing will be from 9 AM - 8 PM on Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014 at Wright-Brown Family Funeral Home with the family greeting friends from 5 PM - 7 PM. Funeral services celebrating the life of Jack will be at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church in Coweta with Rev. Bill Clinton and Rev. Sara Pugh Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta. Pallbearers are Jim Hewitt, Ed Hewitt, Joe Hopping, Hoss Hopping, Keith Deckard and James McMahan. Honorary Pallbearers are Dave Blackwell and Wes Hopping.
