After Jimmy's death, his parents founded the JIMMY RYCE CENTER for VICTIMS of PREDATORY ABDUCTION

In 1998 Florida Governor Lawton Chiles signed the Jimmy Rice Child Safety Plan.

His parents appeared on talk shows to tell Jimmy's story and warned other parents about the dangers of preditory abduction.

The City of Homestead, Flordia, renamed it's ball field "The JIMMY RYCE" Field in honor of Jimmy. He had played baseball here.

Jimmy's parents also got the Jimmy Rice Act passed. This act requires police to notify the neighborhood when a convicted sexual predator moves in.
