Gerald Bonds, Sr. passed from this life on November 4, 2014, at Lane Regional Medical Center. He was born on February 2, 1932, at Hamburg, MS. He was the son of Alexander Hamilton Bonds and Pearl Aldridge Bonds. Mr. Bonds was retired as a Security Guard with Formosa Plastics.

Mr. Bonds is preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, and four brothers.

He is survived by his wife Joy Priest Bonds; daughter, Janet Bonds Sillinger (Gaylord); sons, Gerald D. Bonds, Jr. (Janis) and Robert W. Bonds (Beverly); grandchildren, Jason Sillinger (Lori), Alex Bonds (Amy), Joseph Sillinger, Adam Bonds (Somer), Jennifer Sillinger Kirchhofer (Kyle); great grandchildren, Jay, Loran, Hannah, Steven, Evan, Jacob, and Addison; sisters, Margaret "Tiny" Temple, Pearl Marie Embry, and Grace Helen Halford. He also leaves a very special friend, Blackjack, his black lab with a white cross on his chest.

Visitation will be at the Franklin Funeral Home on Friday, November 7, 2014, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM with memorial service at 2:00 PM. Elder Jerry Wilkinson will officiate. Burial will be at the Mt. Carmel Cemetery near Hamburg, MS.

Pallbearers will be Alex Bonds, Adam Bonds, Jason Sillinger, Denver Goodson, Jay Kirchhofer and William Bonds.
