Funeral services in charge of Rev. Ross J. Hutsinpiller were held from the Roy Methodist church Wednesday, afternoon at 2 o'clock for Walter Schneider, 66 who died at Springer Tuesday afternoon.

Mr. Schneider, one of the best known farmers of the Mills area, came here in 1915 from Olton, Texas and resided on his farm continuously until the time of his death. He was born at Moulton, Texas, where he lived for many years, later going to Stanford, Texas and thence to Olton.

He was stricken with a stomach ailment about three years ago and was treated at a number of places, but with on improvement in his condition. Recently he received medical attention at Raton and was under the care of a doctor at Springer at the time of his death.

In January 1897, he was married to Eleanor Voelkel and to this union were born eight children. He has six children of whom survive. Besides the widow, the survivors are Elo Schneider and Reno Schneider of Sherman, Texas, Edgar Schneider of Plainview, Texas, Mrs. Foster Bryce of Alamagorda, Carvin Schneider and Ruby Smith, both of Roy. In addition there are 24 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two children, Walter Milton Schneider and Louise Hellen Johnston.

Pallbearers were Marques Burks, Thos Rigoni, Angelo Bonomo, Tom Strong, Mark Brockman and H.S. Brockman.
Interment was in the cemetery at Roy.
