There is some controversy over his two wives. Some say he was married to Eliza Finchum and Susannah Gann. Some say it was Eliza Gann and Susannah Finchum. Both versions appear on various death certificates. Gladys Cody who was their great granddaughter said Susannah was a Finchum. O the mysteries of genealogy!

Gravesite Details

Jacob's grave is under the water of Douglas Lake for part of the year. The gentleman at the Genealogical Society in Dandridge, TN said the stones can be seen when the water is down.
