Life's Work/Service/Interests: In the beginning of his career, he worked on ranches, then worked several years as an orderly at Warm Springs State Hospital before moving to California. He then hauled sheet rock in the San Francisco Bay area. His first television debut came when he lost a load of sheet rock on the Golden Gate Bridge during rush hour traffic. His worn out shoulders told the tale of his many hours of hard work. Although logging was the job of his choice, Steve worked on construction jobs, as a heavy equipment mechanic and most recently, as a machinist. A natural born comedian, Steve could make any situation hilarious. His imitations of others and quick-witted comments donated hours of laughter to all who knew him. Being an avid reader, he was a walking encyclopedia and enjoyed talking about the many things he had learned. His joys aside from family and friends were playing music, fishing, camping, woodworking and just plain working. When he was younger he was an excellent sketch artist and his wood working and art boasted his many talents. In his final days, Steve was surrounded by the love and comfort of his survivors. Steven Allen Abbey (Orr), of Hamilton, Montana, joined our Father in Heaven following complications from pneumonia October 30, 2014, at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula. He was 61.
