Graduated Napoleon High 1943. Attended NDSU 1.5 years. Injured foot in high school. Missed 2 years of school due to injury. Bismarck doctors could not help but school supt. Leo Burnstad was able to get him into Shriner Hospital in Fargo were injury healed but left leg shorter than normal. Worked at Coast to Coast Hardware Store until leg bothered too much. Moved to Mandan and worked for Selective Service 1951-52.
Purchased Hoof farm in Napoleon 1954-63 also known as the Pioneer Farm. (E 1/2 of SE 1/4 of SEC 20 T-135-N R-72-W) Inherited from mother 160 AC NE 1/4 of SEC 29 - Bryant Township, Logan County. Bought Geo. Heisler farm 1964 from Jacob Silbernagel.(W 1/2 & SE 1/4 of SEC 33 and SW 1/4 of SEC 28 Glendale Township, Logan County. Sold 1967.) Served on school board for 9 years and during construction of new school. Also served on board of Home for Aged. Member of Knights of Columbus and was District Deputy at time of death. Died of heart failure while dancing with wife at Knights of Columbus dinner in Linton, ND.
