MRS. K. J. BAUERLE DIES FOLLOWING SHORT ILLNESS
Her Life Had Been One of Long Christian Service

Mrs. K. J. Bauerle, of Chatsworth, died at one o'clock Saturday morning, November 3rd, in the Fairbury hospital following an illness of two days.

Born at Topeka, Ill.

Elmira Ernestine Bauerle, daughter of Frederick and Elizabeth Nuhn Heinhorst, was born near Topeka, Illinois, on February 8, 1875. her grandparents had settled in Mason county several decades before the Civil War and established homes that emphasized devotion to God and love of country. During the early years of her life, Mrs. Bauerle received a broad general education in school and a deeply religious philosophy of life in her home and church in Bishop, Illinois, and was active in this congregation until her marriage to the Rev. K. J. Bauerle on April 7, 1898.

The young couple moved to Mt. Pulaski, Illinois, where the husband was pastor of the Evangelical church. Here were laid the foundations of a home that became known throughout northern Illinois for its gracious hospitality and its sincere friendliness. Here too began the career of her who was loved for her service to her community and her life as a Christian gentlewoman.

In her home, Mrs. Bauerle, with her husband, expressed a love for learning that inspired their children to pursue their formal education in college, university and professional school. In her daily life, she exemplified moral integrity, unselfish service and Christian virtue. Six of her children survive: Anna, wife of Dr. Paul J. Schwab, Dean of Trinity university, San Antonio, Texas; Martha, wife of William E. Flessner, Williamston, Michigan; Arthur F. Bauerle, Saunemin; Elmira, physiotherapist, of Chicago; Florinda, teacher in the Chatsworth public school and Frieda, wife of Tech. Sgt. Hartzell Munz, of Fairbury.
