Mrs. Eula Mae (Powers) Allred, 99, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Lexington Hospital. She was the wife of the late Joseph Brantley Allred.

Mrs. Allred was born on August 25, 1915 in Moore County, a daughter of the late Jonah and Bessie (Saunders) Powers.

She was a member of Archdale United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school class and was a former Sunday School Superintendent.

In her spare time she enjoyed cooking and will be remember for her chocolate pound cake, coconut cake, and chicken pie.

Mrs. Allred is survived by two daughters, Sue Marshall and her husband, John of Linwood, North Carolina, and Kay Allred of Ellijay, Georgia; two grandchildren, Rhea Murray and her husband, John of Wilmington, North Carolina and Richard Elliott and his wife, Ronda of Vermont; five great grandchildren, Katrina, Cassandra, Dawn, Brittany and Joey; and four great-great children, Zack, Isabel, Brantley, and Owen.

A graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Floral Garden Park Cemetery with Rev. Harold Shives officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Archdale United Methodist Church Building Fund, PO Box 4096, Archdale, NC 27263.
