EAST PRAIRIE (Special) --
Mrs. Blanche Helen Shelby of East Prairie died at 11 Monday morning at Sikeston Convalescent Center after an extended illness. She was 92 years old.
Mrs. Shelby was born April 28, 1883, in Charleston, and was married March 27, 1910, to William L. "Ted" Shelby, who preceded her in death June 2, 1943. She was a member of the First Christian Church of East Prairie where she taught various Sunday School classes and vacation bible school. Mrs. Shelby also served as secretary of the church board.
She was a 55-year-member of the Woodman Circle in East Prairie and was a member of the Amarilla Rebekah Lodge 433 of East Prairie.
Surging her son, Travis W. Shelby, East Prairie; daughters, Mrs. Helen J. Lycans, Berkely, and Mrs. Capitola R. Kriese, Memphis, Tenn.; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 4 this afternoon at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, where services will be at 2 Wednesday afternoon. The Rev. Lee Erwin, pastor of the First Christian Church will officiate, with burial in East Prairie Memorial Park.
