Albert Mary Walker Thweatt, 102, died May 14, 2005 at Heritage Assisted Living.


Born to Edward and Justine Patterson on June 25, 1902. At an early age she joined 2nd Baptist Church and later moved her membership to St. Mathews Episcopal Church. She was a charter member of Delta Sigma Theta sorority, Savannah Alumnae Chapter and several other civic organizations. She was educated in the Savannah school system and graduated with BA degree from Atlanta University. Mrs. Thweatt was a teacher in the Savannah school system for 40 years at Eastbroad Street and Hubert Schools. She was also supervising teacher with the student teacher program.


Survivors include her son Alan and his wife Margaret Walker, El Paso, TX; grandsons, Alan G. Walker, El Paso, TX, Brian Walker, Houston, TX, Cary Walker, Ft. Worth, TX; great -grandsons, Michael Walker, Houston, TX, Cameron Walker, Ft. Worth, TX; sister, Catherine Cooper, Darien, GA; nieces, Jacqueline and he r husband Alex Bussey, Margaret Washnitzer, Washington, DC.


Visitation will be held 6-9 p.m., Thursday at St. Matthew Episcopal Church. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Friday at St. Mathew Episcopal Church.


Burial: Laurel Grove South Cemetery.
