Metter - Willie Lewis Aldrich, 77, died Wednesday at St. Josephs Hospital in Savannah. The Candler Co. native and lifelong resident was a retired farmer and an Army Veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific. He was a member of the Metter Church of God, an avid fisherman and raised quail. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Wright Aldrich; five sons and daughters-in-law, David Stubbs of Polk City, FL, Mike and Mary Nell Aldrich, Broadus and Renee Aldrich, Lannie and Denise Aldrich all of Metter, and Lonnie Aldrich of Reidsville; step-children, Richard and Linda Johnson of Augusta, Nancy and Dean Nichols of Metter, Dennis and Tracy Johnson of Dublin; brothers, Harold, Wade, Burton, Clayton and Freddie Aldrich all of Metter; sister, Evelyn Miles of N. Augusta, S. C.; 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Visitation: 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Funeral Services: 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Metter Church of God .
