PLAINVILLE — Bartt Emerson Cox, 31, passed away at Good Samaritan Hospital on Tuesday. Bartt was born in Vincennes June 19, 1983. He was a Washington High School graduate and also attended Vincennes University for auto refinishing. Bartt was a member of the Army National Guard and served from 2003-2004 in Iraq. While serving he was awarded several honors including Army Achievement Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Army Commendation Medal, and an Honorable Discharge in 2007. Bartt enjoyed watching I.U. basketball and the Colts.

Bartt leaves behind his father, Steve Ray Cox (Laura); mother, Becky Jo Duzan (Todd); brother, Taylor Duzan; grandmother, Janet Byram; grandparent Gene Schafer; aunt, Ginny Schafer; uncle, Steve William Truelove (Angie); cousins, Heather Truelove, Libby Truelove, and Hollis Truelove; great-aunt and uncle Cindy and Steve Reddick; godparents, Harold Eugene Schafer and the late Mildred Ann Schafer; and several other cousins.

Preceding Bartt were his grandparents Merle Emerson (Buddy) Truelove Jr., Donna Lee Wilson Truelove; great-grandparents, Merle Emerson and Betty Truelove Sr., Mable Irene Clark, Calvin Wilson; grandmother Millee Shafer, and grandmother Mary Hazel Cox.

A visitation will be held Saturday at Gill Funeral Home from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. A private funeral will be held for family and by invitation only.
