Mrs. Davidson was retired from Sprint Telephone Company with twenty years of service. She was a member of Jones Chapel Church of the Brethren. She taught a Sunday School Class for forty years. She was an active member in the Women’s Fellowship Group. She also served on various committees in the church and was a youth counselor. She was involved in organizing the Figsboro Senior Citizens Group in 1990.
At the onset of World War II her family moved to Baltimore, MD for twelve years. She was employed by the Glen L. Martin Aircraft Company and was proud to be a “Rosie the Riveter.” She taught a Sunday School Class at Orems Road Methodist Church. She was president of the P.T.A. at Victory Ville Elementary School. She was a chaperon for pre-teen night at Victory Villa Community Club also, for the Victory Villa Elementary School’s Marching Band. Survivors include one son, John Lee Davidson and wife Brenda of Martinsville, VA; one granddaughter, Lori D. Hornsby and husband Roger; one great-granddaughter, Alexandra Hornsby; a foster son, Marvin An of Sterling, VA; two sisters, Alise M. Dorton and Esther M. Ramsey of Martinsville.
The funeral will be at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at the Jones Chapel Church of the Brethren with Pastor Roy McVey and Pastor Harvey Leddy officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Roselawn Burial Park.
