Mrs. Bertha Walters, 85, died Saturday morning at Hadley Regional Medical Center.

The life long resident of Catherine had lived in Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home for the past few years.

She is survived by eight sons, Florence, Paul and Alexius, Hays, Rudy, Salina, Rupert, Colorado Springs, Colo., Romuld, Dodge City, Francis, Russill, and Alfred, Catherine; four daughters, Mrs. Helen Steckline and Mrs. Ralph (Bertha) Lang, both of Hays, and Mrs. Joe (Adelaide) Dinkel and Mrs. Tony (Dorothy) Lang, both of Catherine; 49 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Justus, who died in 1965; one daughter, one son and eight brothers and sisters.

Funeral mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Catherine Church in Catherine. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Sunday and until time of the service at Brock’s North Hill Chapel here. A parish wake service is scheduled for 8 p.m. Monday at Brock’s.
